Tubeless Ready (TR)
Tubeless tires have many advantages: you can drive with less air pressure. This results in better traction and the rolling resistance decreases. And where there is no hose, the risk of a breakdown also falls. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealing milk than other “Tubeless Ready” tires. The bead of our TR tires is like a real UST tubeless tire completely covered with a rubber layer. As a result, the hose-free mounting of all rims with standard dimensions is successful on the first inflation and with little fluid.

EXO+ PROTECTION
The previous EXO+ construction was based on a 120 TPI carcass reinforced with SilkShield and EXO puncture protection layers. The new EXO+ construction is built on a 60 TPI carcass coated with a new abrasion-resistant rubber. The sidewalls feature a now rubberised EXO puncture protection layer and a short butyl insert is incorporated over the bead. While the previous EXO+ technology had more puncture protection than EXO, the new EXO+ technology now offers almost twice the puncture protection and 20% more puncture protection, placing it pretty much between EXO and DD – with only 1-5% extra weight depending on the model. This should be a significant added value for many riders. The rolling behaviour of the new construction is very similar to the previous one. Although a 120 TPI rolls better than a 60 TPI in a direct comparison, SilkShield “dampens” this difference.

3C MaxxTerra

Wide Trail Casing (WT)
Our Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises tread layout and tyre shape on today’s modern wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for narrow rims and are too angular on wide rims for optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but function perfectly on all rims with an inner dimension between 30 and 39 mm.

EXO Protection

Tubeless ready

PureGrip Compound:
Based on the activated silica compound, we worked purposefully toward a compound technology for the performance segment. After intensive development efforts, our Korbach-based research and development department created a new compound technology with outstanding grip and cross-country properties. BlackChili Compound
The rolling properties of the rubber compound of a tire are primarily determined by three interacting factors – stiction [grip], rolling resistance and mileage [longevity] . The dilemma: If you improve any of these factors it can have a detrimental effect on at least one of the others. A tire with maximum grip wears quicker and rolls more slowly. If you then make a tire roll faster and more durable, grip, in turn, is reduced. Apex
Used successfully for years in passenger car tires, the Apex stabilizes the tire in curves. A technology that also makes sense for large-volume bicycle tires. The Apex is a rubber tread that is placed between the carcass plies at the base of the tire. It stiffens the tire’s sidewalls, minimizing the tire’s torsion under high lateral loads.
