Park Tool CC-3.2 Chain Checker

A worn chain provokes bad shifting behaviour and drastically shortens the service life of sprockets. The Park Tool CC-3.2 wear gauge shows exactly whether a chain is still within the tolerance of 0, 5% (for 9- and 10-speed chains) or 0.75% (for 11- and 12-speed chains) elongation – the values at which most manufacturers recommend changing the chain.

Instructions
One side of the CC-3.2 is used to check for chain wear at the 0.5% level of chain wear; the other side is used to check at the 0.75% level. Select suitable side and lower CC-3.2 onto chain. If gauge tip fits completely into chain link, the chain is worn and should be replaced. If gauge tip does not fit into link, the chain is not worn and does not require replacement.
